Drawing on Portugal’s tile-making heritage, Rua do Azulejo, in Ovar, is seeking to honour the city’s cultural tradition – the City Tile Museum – with work along three squares where playful and contemporary “tiled carpets” have been designed, with patterns and colours that invoke and enhance the heritage of the traditional Ovar tiles.
